3:00pm – Bolt it Down! This course is back by popular demand! Is your home securely fastened to your foundation? Presenters Kevin Bourn and Jim Mattison of Simpson Strong-Tie® will explain how to do a home kitsap-demevaluation, navigate the permitting process, and explain how to properly bolt and plate a home. Even a small shake can cause significant damage. Bolt it down and save your home from seismic damage. This course is offered in partnership of Kitsap County Department of Emergency Management, Olympic Peninsula Chapter of the ICC, Kitsap Building Association, the jurisdictional building departments throughout Kitsap County, and Simpson Strong-Tie®.  NOTE: This class will fill up. Advanced registration with Kitsap Dept. of Emergency Management is strongly encouraged ( or 360-307-5870). Those that do pre-register with DEM will receive a free admission to the Expo!

Putting Clinic!

Join Al Patterson, head golf pro at Kitsap Golf & Country Club, as he walks you through the basics of putting. Whether you’re new to golf and want to learn the best techniques for your putt, or a more experienced golfer wanting to perfect your putting technique – this clinic is for you! Al will lead a brief instructional seminar demonstrating the best putting techniques, followed by a practice session where participants will have the opportunity to practice what they’ve learned. Don’t have your own golf clubs? Don’t worry! Kitsap Golf & Country Club will have clubs available to borrow, but feel free to bring your lucky putter if you have one. Join us to learn about rain gardens, an important method of helping manage stormwater runoff, the number one source of pollution to Puget Sound. In addition to helping reduce polluted contaminants in our waterways, having a rain garden is a beautiful addition to your landscape. Attendees will leave with an understanding of how to evaluate their landscape for an effective rain garden, how to prepare and construct one, and what to plant in it.  Now’s the perfect time to get started and help improve the quality of water recharging our aquifers.
